ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT NEW BRANDING CAMPAIGN PRESENTATION

Economic Development Director Lory Gary introduced the topic of branding and provided examples of brands that immediately brought the business to mind.  Ms. Gary then introduced Katie Fleming, Brand Strategist at HIGHNOON.

Ms. Fleming spoke about the brand creation process which included a component about identity creation and developing the mission and vision for Economic Development.  She unveiled the slogan "You're in Good company" and explained that it visualizes that Goodyear is the place to be.  She also explained the visual campaign brand element.

Ms. Fleming talked about the imagery to be used which would focus on industry, skilled worker, general lifestyle and technology.  She explained each of the imagery areas.

Ms. Gary spoke about the next steps in rolling the new branding out to the public including trade publications and digital advertising.  She explained about the various sites available for digital advertising including Google and LinkedIn.  She then gave various examples of the advertising that could be done.

Council asked about including entertainment and restaurants.

Council asked what the lifecycle was for a branding or a slogan.  Ms. Fleming responded that the goal is to have a brand that has longevity and that with the steps taken during this process, she believed that it should have lasting power.  She added that pieces for the entertainment and restaurants could easily be added.

Council commented that the yellow font popped more than the other colors and that a refresh is a good idea.

Council asked to have more quality of life images used to show there is a place for families.
