CALL TO ORDER
Chairman Lauritano called the City Council Subcommittee: Boards, Commissions and Committees meeting to order at 3:01 p.m.

Staff Present:

PUBLIC COMMENTS

There were no public comments.
 
BUSINESS
 
1.
Discussion and possible action on an appointment to the Arts and Culture Commission of the Ex-Officio member of the West Valley Arts Council.
 

MOTION BY Councilmember Laura Kaino, SECONDED BY Councilmember Wally Campbell to APPOINT Sandra Bassett as the Ex-Officio member of the Arts and Culture Commission. The motion carried as follows:

AYE:
Chairman Sheri Lauritano, Councilmember Wally Campbell, Councilmember Laura Kaino

Passed - Unanimously

 
2.
Interviews, discussion and possible action on appointments/reappointments to the Youth Commission.
Assistant to the Council John Raeder gave a brief background about the Youth Commission.  The Subcommittee interviewed applicants for the Youth Commission.  
 

MOTION BY Councilmember Wally Campbell, SECONDED BY Councilmember Laura Kaino to APPOINT Alex Belanger, Jackson Hamblin and Lyndon Kov to the Goodyear Youth Commission for one-year terms, expiring June 30, 2022; and Azyus Bird, Krislyn Lyons, Emily McGee and Emma Yocopis for two-year terms, expiring June 30, 2023. The motion carried as follows:

Passed - Unanimously

Discussion and possible action on appointments/reappointments to the Public Improvement Corporation.
 

MOTION BY Councilmember Laura Kaino, SECONDED BY Councilmember Wally Campbell to REAPPOINT Dennis Paschen and Susan Schmelzer and APPOINT John Cox to terms on the Public Improvement Corporation. The motion carried as follows:

Passed - Unanimously

Discussion and possible action on appointments/reappointments to the Industrial Development Authority.
 

MOTION BY Councilmember Wally Campbell, SECONDED BY Councilmember Laura Kaino to REAPPOINT Dennis Paschen and Susan Schmelzer and APPOINT John Cox to the Industrial Development Authority. The motion carried as follows:

Discussion and possible action on a reappointment to the Self-Insured Healthcare Trust Board.
 

MOTION BY Councilmember Laura Kaino, SECONDED BY Councilmember Wally Campbell to REAPPOINT Richard Newcomer to the Self-Insured Healthcare Trust Board. The motion carried as follows:

Chairman Sheri Lauritano, Councilmember Wally Campbell, Councilmember Laura Kaino

Passed - Unanimously

Interviews, discussion and possible action on appointments to the Parks and Recreation Advisory Commission.
The Council Subcommittee interviewed applicants for the Parks and Recreation Advisory Commission.
 

MOTION BY Councilmember Wally Campbell, SECONDED BY Councilmember Laura Kaino to APPOINT Ted Ingalls to complete the vacated term and John Cox as the alternate to the Parks and Recreation Advisory Commission. The motion carried as follows:

Discussion on upcoming Board, Commission and Committee vacancies.
This item was not discussed.
