Jeremy Dyke, Community Engagement Coordinator, introduced himself to the commission and explained his role in the community. Coordinator Dyke would like to support the commission and their outreach efforts to engage the community in the Arts.

RECOMMENDATION TO APPROVE DRAFT MINUTES FROM MAY 11, 2021

CHAIRMAN REMARKS (FRANCES FEE, CHAIRMAN)
Chairman Fee accepted the resignation of Aubrie Jones as Commissioner for the Arts & Culture Commission. Alternate Holly Mckenzie will replace Jones.

ARTS ADVOCACY VIDEO DISCUSSION (BRIAN CROSS, COMMISSIONER)
Administrator Ozlanski asked the commission to send her examples of the music they feel would work well with the video. Commissioner Cross discussed the fast and upbeat pace of the nineteen second video. Ex-Officio Bassett offered to play several pieces that were free and the commission settled on an example to forward to Mary Manning for the video.

PUBLIC ART FY2022 PROJECT DISCUSSION (JENNIFER BARNES, COMMISSIONER)
Commissioner Barnes reviewed the status of the current FY21 public art projects including Fire Station 188 and the Goodyear Civic Square. Chairman Fee and Commissioner Barnes presented the commission's public art project recommendations to Mayor and Council for FY22 which included eight traffic cabinets and Gallery 37: Youth Public Art Program and FY23 Bullard Wash Park sculptural panels. The recommended funding level for all three projects of $312,000 was well received.
5.
FALL EVENTS (KELSI KIPER, ARTS SPECIALIST)
Arts Specialist Kiper reviewed upcoming Arts and Culture events including: In-person Paint Parties, Fall Concert Series, Hot Coffee Lectures, Ballet Under the Stars, Goodyear Rocks, Goodyear 75th Fine Arts Exhibit and Chalk in the Park.

APPROVE CHANGE TO ARTS & CULTURE COMMISSION BYLAW LANGUAGE TO UPDATE THE EX-OFFICIO LANGUAGE AND IMPROVE THE GRAMMAR (GUYLENE OZLANSKI, ADMINISTRATOR)

SUB-COMMITTEE MEETING DATES SELECT FOR 2021 (FRANCES FEE, CHAIRMAN)
Administrator Ozlanski and the commissioners discussed upcoming sub-committee meeting dates and finalized the schedule for the fall:
- Public Art: Thursday, September 2 at 12p.m.
- Events and Festivals: Wednesday, August 25 at 1p.m.
- Education Programs: Tuesday, August 24 at 12p.m.
- Advocacy and Communication: Tues, August 3 at 1:30p.m.

ARTS UPDATE (GUYLENE OZLANSKI, ADMINISTRATOR)
Administrator Ozlanski applauded the work of the commission and their ability to provide so many great events in spite of the pandemic and excited to return to in-person events. Virtual events will continue to be available in a variety of formats. The Arts and Culture division has hired coordinator Kelsi Kiper as a full time addition to the staff. Goodyear 75th celebration continues with the creation of a historic coloring book by Donovan Perez and Maria Bueno. On August 18th Harkins Movie Theater will be hosting Goodyear 75th celebration with $.75 admission and concessions.
