Attorney General's Counterstrike Program.
Assistant Attorney General Erika Mansur presented on the Attorney General’s Office Counter Strike program. She explained that the program’s goal is to reduce youth access to tobacco in retail outlets by systematically monitoring retailer compliance with state laws which prohibit the sale of tobacco products to minors. The program also serves to coordinate and encourage local enforcement with those laws. Ms. Mansur also discussed the criteria for the youth undercover program and how teens can get involved with the Counter Strike Task Force.

Goodyear Community Response Team Presentation.
Crisis Coordinator Sandra Espinoza and Goodyear Firefighter Joe Hernandez presented on the Goodyear Community Response Team. Ms. Espinoza explained that the Community Response Team provides longer-term support for residents impacted by the crisis. That includes providing temporary shelter and toiletry needs for residents whose home may have been damaged by a fire, and financial and mental-health resources for residents coping with the sudden loss of a loved one.

Chair Lauritano and Commissioners Emily Shanafelt, Patrick Bednarz, and Jackson Hamblin provided a report on the highlights from the NLC Congressional Conference in Washington, DC.
