SUBCOMMITTEE UPDATE FROM MEETINGS:

A.
COMMUNICATION & ADVOCACY (COMMISSIONER BRIAN CROSS)
Commissioner Paulos gave updates for the Communication and Advocacy Sub Committee in the absence of Commissioner Cross.  Communication has been focused on blasting out Ballet Under the Stars, Goodyear Rocks and the Chalk Art Festival.  The committee decided on #ARTSINGOODYEAR for the commission's tag line.  Coordinator Kiper created business cards with a QR code to link events that will be distributed by the commission.

B.
EVENTS & FESTIVALS (COMMISSIONER HOLLY MACKENZIE)
Commissioner McKenzie gave an overview of the upcoming events including Ballet Under the Stars, Goodyear Rocks and Chalk Art in the Park.  She will send out a signup genius invite to the commissioners to volunteer to man the Arts & Culture Booth at the events.  The Goodyear Holiday Show, formerly the Goodyear Variety Show, will be held on December 8th & 9th at Estrella Mountain Community College.  Instead of livestreaming the event there will be a video made which will be available after the event.  In light of the engagement challenges that faced Shakespeare in the Park the committee proposed widening the scope to Theater in the Park.  It will be held in February and Administrator Ozlanski is looking into developing a partnership with the Phoenix Theater Company.

C.
EDUCATION & PROGRAMS (COMMISSIONER NANCY LOVE)
Commissioner Love communicated that the committee was wanting to develop a new program around the idea of "pop up programs in the park."  The thought was individuals or small groups would spontaneously show up and share their art.  For example Poetry on the Spot, Christmas Caroling, wearing your art like a sandwich board or pulling it in a wagon.  Love reported on the success of the Hot Coffee Lectures, attendance is increasing and the last lecturer Ryan Reeves gave fascinating in-site into the history of Goodyear aviation.  Marshall Shore, Hip Historian, will give the next lecture on Tuesday, September 28th, 7-8:30p.m.

D.
PUBLIC ART (COMMISSIONER JEN BARNES)
Commissioner Barnes reviewed the selection process for the traffic cabinets project including method, public engagement and the ability to translate the art into 3D.  Eight artists of the 28 submissions were selected to paint or wrap the following: Richard Gross - Estrella Parkway & Goodyear Blvd, Ewa Bugala - Estrella Parkway & Goodyear, Veronica Lomeli - Sara
