CALL TO ORDER
Mayor Pizzillo called the Work Session to order at 5:00 p.m.

1.
COMMUNITY RESPONSE VEHICLE PROGRAM UPDATE
Interim Deputy City Manager Paul Luizzi presented an update on the Community Response Team program and played a video that provided an overview of the program and introduced the team.
Mr. Luizzi indicated that the first day of the program was on November 15, 2021, and the current call breakdown is 87 percent crisis response and 13 percent community paramedicine calls.
Crisis Response Coordinator Sandra Lerma-Espinoza discussed the incident types which included high stress, behavioral health and community paramedicine incidents. She also discussed the types of the resources that are provided during each call.
Mr. Luizzi and Ms. Lerma-Espinoza discussed the positive feedback the program received and the details behind the feedback. Mr. Luizzi added that the effectiveness of the program still needed to be evaluated along with the impact the program has on the community.
A discussion ensued related to the types of calls the team responds to and the support the Community Response Team receives after calls.
Council thanked Mr. Luizzi and Ms. Lerma-Espinoza for the program and presentation.

MARICOPA COUNTY REDISTRICTING
Government Relations Manager Ginna Carico spoke about Maricopa County’s redistricting of their 5 supervisor districts. Ms. Carico explained that Maricopa County is required to redistrict following the decennial census.
Ms. Carico reviewed the current board of supervisors maps, drafts of the redistricting maps, as well as the criteria Maricopa County is required to abide by when redistricting and developing the maps. She added that a public hearing will be held on June 20, 2022 to discuss the redistricting methodology and initial public feedback.
A discussion ensued related to the drafts of the redistricting maps.
