RECOGNIZE FALL 2021 MAYOR SELECT WINNERS (LISA PAULOS, COMMISSIONER)
Fall 2021 Mayor Select winners were recognized for their artwok. The commissioners were extremely impressed by the caliber and beauty of the art and very appreciative and thankful to the young artist for sharing their work with the community. Commissioners Paulos and Love presented the awards to the selected artists which included: Savannah Shurfot, Lillian Smith, Kayla Huynh, Jin Zang, Mariela Orozco, Madison Pelfry, Ivana Chazaro, Jackson Wilkes, Daisy Ponce, Elisa Pandro and Best in Show winner Adelina Moca.

SELECT ARTIST FOR FIRE STATION 188 (GUYLENE OZLANSKI, ADMINISTRATOR)
The company CoLab who had been selected to create the artwork at Fire Station 188 was not going to be able to complete the work within the timeframe so a new artist will need to be selected. The commissioners discussed five artists and reviewed the type of artwork requested by the firemen. Jason Bulter was the commission's first choice and Mary Shindel was their second.
MOTION BY Commissioner Nancy Love, SECONDED BY Commissioner Brian Cross to Approve artist Jason Butler to create architecturally integrated public artwork for Fire Station 188 and Mary Shindel as a Second Choice.

COMMUNICATIONS UPDATE (LISA PAULOS, COMMISSIONER)
Vice Chairman Paulos gave a brief Communications update. Social media base continues to expand and 75% of the followers are women, post are looked at most often mornings early in the work week. Hoot Suite was recommended to help coordinate social media efforts.

THEATER IN THE PARK UPDATE (KELSI KIPER, COORDINATOR)
Coordinator Kiper gave a brief overview on Theater in the Park scheduled for February 19th, 2022, 5:00pm-10:00pm at Goodyear Community Park. Southwest Shakespeare Company is coordinating the event which will include Pebble Creek Singers, jugglers, magicians, fortune Teller, food trucks and over 20 artist and vendors.

ANNUAL ARTS SURVEY DISCUSSION (KELSI KIPER, COORDINATOR)
Coordinator Kiper gave a brief analysis of the Goodyear Arts and Culture end of year survey. There were 29 responses that were extremely positive with ease of event registration being ranked the lowest. The registration process has been revamped and a SOP has been developed to make the process easier. The survey participants submitted suggestions for 2022 programing which included: Watercolor Classes, jewelry making, Tai Chi in the park, Qigong in the park, Japanese Festival, International Festival, Outdoor Symphony, Orchestra Wine & Food Fesival, Lunch time free outdoor concert and a Design Festival.

POP-UPS IN THE PARK UPDATE (KELSI KIPER, COORDINATOR)
Coordinator Kiper gave a brief overview of the1st Pop Up in the Park event that took place at the Polar Plunge hosted at the Goodyear Recreation Campus. The Pebble Creek singers were on hand caroling while the plunge took place then moved inside to include those working out in the exercise areas. It was a very positive experience by all. Kiper is now looking to organize a Tai Chi Pop Up.

ARTS UPDATE (GUYLENE OZLANSKI, ADMINISTRATOR)
Administrator Ozlanski reported the Arts and Culture Commission events had record attendance in 2021. In 2022 in addition to the existing events they are planning on adding a Juneteenth celebration as well as expanding the Veterans Day activities to run throughout the week. Additionally, they would like to focus on culture within the community and are considering ideas like: Dancing on the Square, Go with the Flow, Dickens on the Square, a film festival, Frosty Frolick etc. Gallery 37 is going to repaint the hearts.
