APPROVE CONCEPT FOR HISTORIC GOODYEAR PARKING LOT (Oliverio Balcells, Artist)
Artist Oliverio Balcells shared with the commissioners his purposed public art concept for the screen wall at the new parking lot in Historic Goodyear. The site of the old city hall that is being converted into a parking area for local business. Balcells' community engagement with the historic neighborhood resulted in the design of six, round, laser cut steel medallions. His design included a historic place, ancient cotton, community sunflower, migration bird, diversity and balance - tranquility. The medallions will be mounted along the wall with a diamond tile spacers and the pattern will be repeated.

APPROVE CONCEPT FOR BULLARD WASH PROJECT (Mary Lucking, Artist)
Artist Mary Lucking shared her proposed concept for the Ballard Wash Public Art Project. The goal of the project is to capitalize on the linear nature of Bullard Wash and to encourage visitors to walk between the series of installations. Lucking divided the project into two parts and audio tour focused on "imagine this place" in the past and the future as well as the installation of five telescope influenced art pieces.

EVENT & FESTIVAL UPDATE (Holly McKenzie, Commissioner)
Commissioner McKenzie gave a brief overview of fall and winter events. Ballet Under the Stars was held on September 11, 2022, with reported attendance of 3,500. Goodyear Rocks to avoid conflicting with the West Maverick's Food Truck Round Up was moved to Saturday October1, 2022 at GRC. Goody Boy Daisy will headline the event and there be additional bands and food trucks. Fall Festival will be held Saturday October, 29, 2022 at the Goodyear Ballpark. The commission will man a booth for the trick or treat village on the field and decorate with a Frida Kahlo theme. The Friday Food Truck series will begin November4, 2022 at Goodyear Civic Square from 5pm-8pm featuring themed food trucks and live music. Veterans Day will be celebrated at the Goodyear Civic Square starting November 7, 2022, with an art centric tribute of patriotic murals culminating on Veterans Day with live music, food trucks, kid activities, flag garden and yard signs. Campus Concert will feature a local band on Saturday, November 19, 2022, from 7pm-9pm at the GRC. Holiday on the Square will feature an ice rink that will be open on Fridays and Saturdays 5pm-9pm 12/2/22 though 1/9/22. The Square will be programed with different themes throughout the weeks including Santa's Workshop and Story Book Christmas.

ART PROGRAM UPDATES (Layne Ruiz, Coordinator)
Coordinator Ruiz shared that Creative Aging programming in October would be 3D Art and in November there would be a two day workshop to paint tout bags. The Hot Coffee lecture series had 25 attendees for Dark Sky Aerial.

heART OF GOODYEAR AND TRAFFIC SIGNAL CABINETS (Layne Ruiz, Coordinator)
Coordinator Ruiz gave an update on the heART of Goodyear project. The hearts are going to be painted gray and then commissioned to be repainted by local artists. Coordinator Ruiz asked the commission for recommendations on locations of the traffic cabinets to be painted this fiscal year.

ARTS UPDATE (Guylene Ozlanski, Administrator)
Administrator Ozlanski informed the commissioners that she will be putting out a call to artists for Veterans Day murals as well as light pole banners. Ozlanski announced that artist Isaac Caruso is creating a 50-page children's book illustrated with murals across Arizona and that he will be painting four of the illustrations in Goodyear on the Bullard Wash bridge.
10.
COMMUNICATIONS UPDATE (Lisa Paulos, Commissioner)
Commissioner Paulos updated the commission on social media and communications. In the last 30 days there have been 28,000 views of the Arts & Culture posts. During Ballet Under the Stars Paulos was surprised by the amount of interaction she had with the spectators by asking one question, yes or no answer, instagram surveys.
