RECOGNIZE NORMA CUNNINGHAM AS THE 2021 CITIZEN OF THE YEAR AND PALM VALLEY CHURCH AS THE 2021 CORPORATE CITIZEN OF THE YEAR
Mayor Pizzillo presented a proclamation to Norma Cunningham in recognition of being named 2021 Citizen of the Year and to Pastor Ryan Nuñez representing the Palm Valley Church in recognition of being named 2021 Corporate Citizen of the Year.
Norma Cunningham and Pastor Ryan Nuñez both expressed their gratitude and appreciation to the City and the Goodyear community for the recognition and continued support.

PROCLAMATION IN HONOR OF WALT STEINER FOR HIS SERVICE TO THE CITY OF GOODYEAR
Mayor Pizzillo presented a proclamation to Marcia Steiner in honor of Walt Steiner and his service to the City.
Marcia Steiner spoke regarding Walt's passion to serve the Goodyear community and expressed her appreciation to the City for honoring his life.

RECOGNIZE MILLENNIUM HIGH SCHOOL GIRLS' BASKETBALL TEAM ON THEIR 5A STATE CHAMPIONSHIP
Mayor Pizzillo presented a proclamation to Millennium High School Varsity Girls' Basketball Team in honor of their hard work and accomplishments on their state championship title.
Assistant Principal and Varsity Head Coach Kevin Thomas thanked the City for the recognition and introduced the Varsity Girls Basketball Team.

CITIZEN COMMENTS/APPEARANCES FROM THE FLOOR
Dave Bisson, Goodyear Resident, thanked the City of Goodyear for their support in the firefighter fundraising event hosted by CantaMia Pickleball Club. He explained that the event raised $11,762 for our firefighters.

FY2023 ANNUAL PUBLIC ART PLAN
Arts and Culture Administrator Guylene Ozlanski and Chairman of the Arts and Culture Commission Fran Fee presented the FY2023 Annual Public Plan.
Ms. Fee provided an overview of the Arts and Culture Commission, highlighted current public art projects including Fire Station 188, Gallery 37 and heART of Goodyear Phase II and shared future ideas for the Ballpark Corridor and Parque de Paz.
Ms. Ozlanski provided an overview of the public art program goals and discussed the public art project recommendations. She explained that the staff presented projects for the immediate fiscal year and recommended projects for the next five fiscal years per the City's Public and Performing Art Ordinance. She added that staff outlined a recommended funding level for each project, however funding for the recommended projects will be considered by Council during the annual budget process.
Council expressed support for the recommended public art projects and acknowledged the Arts and Culture Commission and City staff's work with all the public art displays throughout the community.

IN-KIND DONATIONS FOR PUBLIC SAFETY SERVICES FOR THE SKY KIDS EVENT ON 3/26/2022
Interim Fire Chief Tim Wayne presented the report for Council consideration to provide Police and Fire public safety services for the Annual Sky Kids Event.

Councilmember Stipp gave a brief update from the Valley Metro Board of Directors meeting regarding the recruitment for a Chief Executive Officer.
Council inquired about the placement of signage along Sarival Avenue to restrict trucks from using this collector street as a truck route.
Mayor Pizzillo highlighted the Tour de Cure event held on March 6, 2022, and displayed the award presented to the City for its participation. City Manager Julie Karins reported that the event raised $513,000 with 577 riders and approximately 400 spectators to benefit the American Diabetes Association. She applauded Team Goodyear for raising $3,800 for the cause and acknowledged City staff for their hard work in making this a successful event.
