1.
FIRE STATION 188 PUBLIC ART INSTALLATION (Jason Butler, Artist)
Artist Jason Butler presented his preliminary design for the public art at Fire Station 188. The three paneled scenes are nature themed including the five "C's" of Arizona. Using artwork created by local students Jason created three distinct metal panels with pops of color and varying textures and surfaces. The panels are connected through continuous mountain ranges, flowing water, nature and crops. His design for the metal gate includes three separate pieces: The Star of Life, crossed axes and the Goodyear Fire Logo. Jason asked for input from the commissioners regarding the color of the Star of Life and if they preferred red or blue. He also created a metal framed bench that has a seat woven from a fire hose.
