CALL TO ORDER
Chairman Lauritano called the meeting to order at 3:34 p.m.
 
ROLL CALL
Present:
Chairman Sheri Lauritano; Councilmember Wally Campbell; Councilmember Laura Kaino
Staff Present:
City Clerk Darcie McCracken; Assistant to the Council John Raeder
 
PUBLIC COMMENTS

There were no public comments.
 
BUSINESS
 
1.
Review applications, possibly conduct interviews, discussion and possible action to recommend for appointment members to the Youth Commission.
The Subcommittee conducted interviews.
 

MOTION BY Councilmember Laura Kaino, SECONDED BY Councilmember Wally Campbell to RECOMMEND Amaani Singh and Christian Garcia for appointment to the Youth Commission. The motion carried as follows:

AYE:
Chairman Sheri Lauritano, Councilmember Wally Campbell, Councilmember Laura Kaino

Passed - Unanimously

 

MOTION BY Councilmember Laura Kaino, SECONDED BY Councilmember Wally Campbell to RECOMMEND Natalia Piatek and Mackenzie McEldowney for appointment to the Youth Commission pending an interview. The motion carried as follows:

AYE:
Chairman Sheri Lauritano, Councilmember Wally Campbell, Councilmember Laura Kaino

Passed - Unanimously

 
2.
Review applications, discussion and possible action to recommend for appointment members to the Goodyear Fire/Building/Code Enforcement Appeals Board.
The Subcommittee reviewed applications and discussed the requirements of the Board.
 

MOTION BY Councilmember Wally Campbell, SECONDED BY Councilmember Laura Kaino to RECOMMEND Gary Nelson as the Structural Engineer and Alan Stark as the Alternate as an Electrical Engineer for appointment to the Fire/Building/Code Enforcement Appeals Board. The motion carried as follows:

Chairman Sheri Lauritano, Councilmember Wally Campbell, Councilmember Laura Kaino

Passed - Unanimously

 
3.
Review applications, possibly conduct interviews, discussion and possible action to recommend for appointment an alternate to the Parks and Recreation Advisory Commission.
The Subcommittee discussed the applications and requested that interviews be scheduled in September.  
 
4.
Review, discussion, and possible action to recommend to the City Council adoption of the updated Boards, Commission and Committees Selection Process document.
The Subcommittee reviewed and discussed the process document.
 

MOTION BY Councilmember Laura Kaino, SECONDED BY Councilmember Wally Campbell to RECOMMEND for adoption the updated Boards, Commissions, and Committees Process document. The motion carried as follows:

Passed - Unanimously

 
5.
Review, discussion and possibly provide direction to staff on any outstanding vacancies on Boards, Commissions and Committees.
The Subcommittee discussed the upcoming vacancies and outreach efforts to obtain additional applications.
