CALL TO ORDER
Chair Kaino called the meeting to order at 8:00 a.m.

EXECUTIVE SESSION

Notice is hereby given that upon a public majority vote of the members constituting a quorum, the Goodyear Police Public Safety Personnel Retirement Board may hold an Executive Session pursuant to A.R.S. § 38-431.03(1), (2), (3), or (4) on any item listed on the agenda for the purposes authorized therein, including discussion or consideration of personnel matters, records exempt from public inspection, legal advice, or to consider its position and instruct its attorneys regarding the Board's position concerning litigation.

MOTION BY Boardmember Jay Mathias, SECONDED BY Boardmember Joe Perry to APPROVE the minutes of the June 23, 2022 Police Public Safety Personnel Retirement Board. The motion carried as follows:

Review, discussion and possible action regarding the application and medical records for entry into the Public Safety Personnel Retirement System.

MOTION BY Boardmember Eric Webster, SECONDED BY Boardmember Jay Mathias to ACCEPT the applications for entry into the Public Safety Personnel Retirement System with no pre-existing conditions for Darryl Schmidt, Russell Silva and Corrie Ward. The motion carried as follows:

Review, discussion, consideration and possible action on the application and medical records for Accidental Disability - Leonard Ledbetter (continued from June 23, 2022)
The applicant and his representative were present.
 

MOTION BY Boardmember Eric Webster, SECONDED BY Boardmember Joe Perry to APPROVE the application for Accidental Disability for Leonard Ledbetter. The motion carried as follows:

Presentation, discussion and possible action on appealing JRAD Ruling in Maricopa County Case No. LC2020-000178 (Allison L Braughton v. Goodyear Police Public Safety Personnel Retirement Board).
 

MOTION BY Boardmember Jay Mathias, SECONDED BY Vice Chair Michael Stewart to CONVENE an Executive Session. The motion carried as follows:

The Board entered into Executive Session at 8:07 a.m.

The Board adjourned the Executive Session and reconvened the Board Meeting at 9:07 a.m.

Presentation, discussion and possible action on the Accidental Disability Application - Alison Braughton (last heard September 2021)
 

MOTION BY Boardmember Jay Mathias, SECONDED BY Boardmember Joe Perry to TABLE this item pending completion of the final JRAD ruling and receipt of all updated medical records from the applicant. The motion carried as follows:

SEPARATIONS

There are no separations to report.
 
INFORMATION ITEMS
The Board Secretary will schedule a future joint meeting to discuss the process maps, actuarial reports and changes to laws due to approved legislation.
 
NEXT MEETING

The next meeting of the Police Public Safety Personnel Retirement Board is tentatively scheduled for September 22, 2022.
 
ADJOURNMENT
There being no further business to discuss, Chair Kaino adjourned the meeting at 9:15 a.m.
