CALL TO ORDER
Chairman McKenzie called the meeting to order at 12:05 p.m.
 
ROLL CALL

PUBLIC COMMENTS

Before you begin to speak, identify yourself by clearly stating for the record, your name and address. This is the time for citizens who would like to address the Board on any non-agenda item within the jurisdiction of the Board. The Board will listen to comments, and may take any one of the following:
  • Respond to criticism.
  • Request that staff investigate and report on the matter.
  • Request that the matter be scheduled on a future agenda.
 
BUSINESS
 
1.
INTRODUCE NEW EVENT & FESTIVAL COORDINATORS; ROSIE BECERRA & NATALIE CASSIDY (Guylene Ozlanski, Administrator)
Administrator Ozlanski introduced the commissioners to the new event and festival coordinators Rosie Becerra, Natalie Cassidy and Layne Ruiz.  Coordinator Becerra was promoted from Arts & Culture programmer to coordinator and will oversee existing events.  Natalie Cassidy is a new hire and will oversee the city's Signature Events.  Layne Ruiz transferred from recreation and will be in charge of programs.

PREVIEW FALL/WINTER LINE UP (Guylene Ozlanski, Administrator)
Coordinators Cassidy and Beccera gave a brief preview of the upcoming fall events.  Events will kick off with Ballet Under the Stars on September 11, 2022, at 7p.m.  They are expecting 4,500 attendees and new this year will be face painting, Cattitude, picture & picture frames and clear drawstring bag giveaway.  Goodyear Rocks will be Saturday October, 1, 2022 at GRC headlined by Goody Boy Daisy with additional bands and food truck vendors.  Fall Festival will be held Saturday October, 29, 2022 at the Goodyear Ballpark.  New this year will be character meet and greet, pumpkin patch, a redesigned custom contest and local non-profits will run the trick or treat village on the field.  Friday Food Truck Series will begin November 4, 2022, at Goodyear Civic Square from 5-8 featuring themed food trucks and live music.  Veterans Day will be celebrated at the Goodyear Civic Square starting November 7 with an art centric tribute of patriotic murals culminating on Veterans Day with live music, food trucks, kid activities, flag garden and yard signs.  Campus Concert will feature a local band on Saturday, November 19, 2022, from 7pm - 9pm. The final event of the year will be Holiday's on the Square including an ice rink that will be open on Fridays and Saturdays 5pm-9pm 12/2/22 through 1/9/22.  The square will be programed with different themes throughout the weeks including Santa's Workshop and Story Book Christmas.
