Approve the draft minutes of the General Plan Committee meeting on August 10, 2022.
MOTION BY Boardmember Gregory Lehmann, SECONDED BY Boardmember Kimberly Hill to APPROVE the draft minutes of the General Plan Committee meeting held on August 10, 2022. The motion carried by the following vote.

Please complete a speaker card and give it to the Secretary. Each speaker is limited to three (3) minutes. Before you begin to speak, identify yourself by clearly stating for the record your name and whether you are a Goodyear resident. The Committee will listen to comments and may take any one of the following actions:
• Respond to criticism
• Request that staff investigate and report on the matter
• Request that the matter be scheduled for on a future agenda.

GPC Meeting #1 Recap
Matthew Klyszeiko, representative from Michael Baker, gave an overview of the last meeting and the purpose of the committee.

Chair and Vice Chair Appointments
Don McBrayer was appointed Chair of the committee and Greg Brown was appointed Vice-Chair.

Vision & Values Overview
Matthew Klyszeiko, representative from Michael Baker, gave a vision and values overview for the General Plan, including future aspirations, essential components, and emerging principles.
5.
Activity
Matthew Klyszeiko, Representative of Michael Baker, discussed the homework that was assigned in the first meeting which was to review the vision and goals from the current General Plan.
Mr. Klyszeiko, prompted the committee to discuss what they think the Vision statement should look like in the new General Plan.
Mr. Klyszeiko, set the stage for goals discussion by asking for general observations or requests for mixed land uses, growth area, cost of development, transportation, and transit.

Group Discussion
a. Matthew Klyszeiko, Representative of Michael Baker, asked what are some General Plan Committee (GPC) topics the committee would like to learn more about, so they can invite speakers to discuss those specific topics. Some suggestions were water conservation, housing, and transportation.

Next Steps
Matthew Klyszeiko, Representative of Michael Baker, stated the next step is the GPC meeting #3.
8.
City Hall Tour
Steve Careccia took committee members on a tour of the new City building.
NEXT MEETING
The next meeting of the General Plan Committee will be October 5, 2022 at 6:00 pm at Goodyear City Hall, located on 1900 North Civic Square, Goodyear, AZ 85395.
