CALL TO ORDER

Chair Lauritano called the meeting to order at 3:03 p.m.

ROLL CALL

Present:: Chairman Sheri Lauritano; Councilmember Wally Campbell; Councilmember Laura Kaino
Staff Present:: City Clerk Darcie McCracken; Assistant to the Council John Raeder; Deputy Finance Director Jared Askelson; Deputy Director Parks and Recreation David Seid

PUBLIC COMMENTS

There were no citizen comments.

BUSINESS

Review applications, conduct interviews, discussion and possible action to recommend members for appointment to the 2023 Citizen Bond Exploratory Committee.

The Subcommittee reviewed applications and conducted interviews.

MOTION BY Councilmember Laura Kaino, SECONDED BY Councilmember Wally Campbell to RECOMMEND for APPOINTMENT to the 2023 Citizens Bond Committee Jesse Aynes, John Cox, Peter Diliberti, Tamara Floyd, Joseph Hester, Danna Kiracofe, Eric Lien, Joseph Moreno, Brian Murphy, James Reynolds and Susan Schmelzer; and to RECOMMEND for APPOINTMENT as alternates, Ernie Nepocumeno and Gerald Wilson. The motion carried as follows:

AYE:: Chairman Sheri Lauritano, Councilmember Wally Campbell, Councilmember Laura Kaino

Passed - Unanimously

Review applications, conduct interviews, discussion and possible action to recommend for appointment to the Parks and Recreation Advisory Commission, applicants to fill vacancies for one member and one alternate.

The Subcommittee reviewed the applications and conducted interviews.

MOTION BY Councilmember Wally Campbell, SECONDED BY Councilmember Laura Kaino to RECOMMEND for APPOINTMENT to the Parks and Recreation Advisory Commission Chad Millette and further RECOMMENDING for APPOINTMENT as an alternate Benita Beckles with both appointments being effective January 29, 2023 until January 28, 2027. The motion carried as follows:

AYE:: Chairman Sheri Lauritano, Councilmember Wally Campbell, Councilmember Laura Kaino

Passed - Unanimously

Review applications, discussion and possible action to reappoint members to the Arts and Culture Commission.

[This item was taken out of order, during a break in interviews of the applicants for Item #1.]

The Subcommittee discussed the application and terms for the re-appointments.

MOTION BY Councilmember Laura Kaino, SECONDED BY Councilmember Wally Campbell to RECOMMEND for RE-APPOINTMENT Erin MacFarlane, Lisa Paulos and Louise Privette to the Arts and Culture Commission beginning January 1, 2023 and ending December 31, 2025. The motion carried as follows:

AYE:: Chairman Sheri Lauritano, Councilmember Wally Campbell, Councilmember Laura Kaino

Passed - Unanimously

Review, discussion and possibly provide direction to staff on any outstanding vacancies on Boards, Commissions and Committees.

The Subcommittee discussed upcoming vacancies and the difficulty with filling some committees.
