Public Safety Capital Funding
Deputy Finance Director Jared Askelson presented an overview of the current 5-year Capital Improvement Project (CIP) funding amounts for public safety, broken down by funding source and the allocations for both Police and Fire. Discussion was held about funding amounts and the use of Capital funds for current and future projects and improvements.

Public Safety Capital Plan
Fire Chief Paul Luizzi and Police Chief Santiago Rodriguez provided an overview of the City’s Public Safety Capital Plan.
The Committee was provided an overview of the Public Safety Training Center Strategic Business Plan Report, prepared by the RDG Business Group and future public safety training needs were discussed, including a conceptual overview of the training facility, site requirements and facility costs. Photos and mapping of neighboring municipal training facility locations were provided for reference.
An overview of the need for a Fire Resource Center and the re-purposing of Fire Station 181 was presented and discussed with the Committee.

Deputy Finance Director Jared Askelson provided a list of Public Safety Projects planned for years 2024 -2028.
