CALL TO ORDER
Chair Lauritano called the meeting to order at 3:04 p.m.
 
ROLL CALL
Present:
Chairman Sheri Lauritano; Councilmember Wally Campbell; Councilmember Laura Kaino
Staff Present:

PUBLIC COMMENTS

There were no public comments.
 
BUSINESS
 
1.
Review applications, conduct interviews, discussion and possible action to appoint members to the Youth Commission.
The Subcommittee reviewed and discussed applications and conducted interviews.
 

MOTION BY Councilmember Laura Kaino, SECONDED BY Councilmember Wally Campbell to RECOMMEND for re-appointment to the Youth Commission Emily McGee, Emma Yocopis, Azyus Byrd and Krislyn Lyons. The motion carried as follows:

AYE:
Chairman Sheri Lauritano, Councilmember Wally Campbell, Councilmember Laura Kaino

Passed - Unanimously

 

MOTION BY Councilmember Wally Campbell, SECONDED BY Councilmember Laura Kaino to RECOMMEND Aleksander Piatek for appointment to the Youth Commission after completing an interview with staff. The motion carried as follows:

AYE:

Passed - Unanimously

 

MOTION BY Councilmember Wally Campbell, SECONDED BY Councilmember Laura Kaino to RECOMMEND for appointment to the Youth Commission Kadin Keller, Aariya Singh, Aleena Torres, Skylar Turner, Sebastian Orozco, Corina Butierez, Analicia Ortiz, Ethan Murillo, Mia Ishay, Omar Abdul-Gawad, Alexander Godbold and Ameera Singh. The motion carried as follows:

AYE:
Chairman Sheri Lauritano, Councilmember Wally Campbell, Councilmember Laura Kaino

Passed - Unanimously

 
2.
Review applications, conduct interviews, discussion and possible action to appoint a member to the Council Compensation Committee.
The Subcommittee reviewed and discussed applications and conducted interviews.  
 

MOTION BY Councilmember Wally Campbell, SECONDED BY Councilmember Laura Kaino to RECOMMEND Robert Paine for appointment to the Council Compensation Committee.The motion carried as follows:

AYE:
Chairman Sheri Lauritano, Councilmember Wally Campbell, Councilmember Laura Kaino

Passed - Unanimously

 
3.
Review applications, conduct interviews, discussion and possible action to appoint a member to the Planning and Zoning Commission.
The Subcommittee reviewed and discussed applications and conducted interviews.  The Subcommittee determined that adequate geographical representation had not been met for the Planning and Zoning Commission.  The Subcommittee directed the City Clerk to conduct a directed recruitment in the Palm Valley and west Goodyear neighborhoods.
 
4.
Review, discussion and possible direction to staff on upcoming vacancies and recruitment efforts.
The Subcommittee discussed vacancies expected to occur in the future and directed the Clerk to continue to recruit for the boards, commissions and committees.

There being no further business to discuss, Chairman Lauritano adjourned the meeting at 5:12 p.m.
