CALL TO ORDER
Chair Kaino called the Police Public Safety Personnel Retirement Board meeting to order at 2:38 p.m.

MOTION BY Boardmember Jay Mathias, SECONDED BY Board Member Joe Perry to EXCUSE Vice Chair Michael Stewart. The motion carried as follows:

APPROVAL OF MINUTES
Approve the draft minutes of the April 27, 2023 Police Public Safety Personnel Retirement Board meeting.  
 

MOTION BY Board Member Joe Perry, SECONDED BY Boardmember Jay Mathias to APPROVE the April 27, 2023 draft minutes of the Police Public Safety Personnel Retirement Board meeting. The motion carried as follows:

Passed - Unanimously

Review, discussion and possible action on the application and medical records for Accidental Disability - Alison Braughton (last reviewed March 23, 2023)
The Board moved into Executive Session at 2:40 p.m.

Chair Kaino reconvened the meeting of the Police Public Safety Personnel Retirement Board at 3:39 p.m.
 

MOTION BY Boardmember Jay Mathias, SECONDED BY Board Member Joe Perry to DENY Alison Braughton's accidental disability application because the record before the Board, relying upon the opinion of Dr. Scott Kirkorsky, does not demonstrate that Ms. Braughton meets the statutory requirements for an accidental disability because:
1. Ms. Braughton's condition is not permanent;
2. Ms. Braughton's condition was not incurred in the performance of her duties; and
3. Ms. Braughton did not terminate employment by reason of accidental disability.
The Board incorporates by reference all of its other findings made on the record to support its denial.
The motion carried as follows:

EXECUTIVE SESSION

Per ARS §38-431.03, upon a public majority vote of the members constituting a quorum, the Goodyear Police Public Safety Personnel Retirement Board may hold an executive session for any item on the agenda.
 

MOTION BY Board Member Joe Perry, SECONDED BY Boardmember Jay Mathias to CONVENE an Executive Session. The motion carried as follows:
