Vice Chairman, Gregory Brown called the meeting to order at 6:00 pm.

Minutes for the last meeting will be approved at the next meeting of the General Plan Committee.

Non-Agenda items: This is the time for citizens who would like to address the General Plan Committee on any non-agenda item within the jurisdiction of the Goodyear General Plan Committee. Please complete a speaker card and give it to the Secretary. Each speaker is limited to three (3) minutes. Before you begin to speak, identify yourself by clearly stating for the record your name and whether you are a Goodyear resident. The Committee will listen to comments and may take any one of the following actions:
• Respond to criticism
• Request that staff investigate and report on the matter
• Request that the matter be scheduled for on a future agenda.
Agenda items: The Chairman will call for public comments as each agenda item is up for discussion. Please complete a speaker card for the Secretary, listing the agenda item on which you would like to speak. Each speaker is limited to three (3) minutes. Matthew Klyszeiko, the representative from Michael Baker gave a brief recap of the previous General Plan Committee meeting.

Review of comments to date
Matthew Klyszeiko, the representative from Michael Baker provided the group a list of public review comments. He explained the way the comments were received, the type of agencies that provided comments and the key points to focus on while reviewing the 60-Day Review Draft of the General Plan.

Group Review on entire document and structure
Matthew Klyszeiko, the representative from Michael Baker, instructed the committee to review the 60-Day Draft of the General Plan and identify any individual issues they find related to the topics, content, goals, policies or the structural format of the draft.

Issue Identification
Matthew Klyszeiko, the representative from Michael Baker, had the committee split into two groups to share and discuss their issues on the 60-Day Review Draft of the General Plan. Each group reviewed the draft in detail and discussed specific concerns on topics that need more elaboration, content that may be missing and should be included and suggested modifications to formatting and pictures in order to better represent the plan.

Group Discussion on Issues
Matthew Klyszeiko, the representative from Michael Baker discussed the input received from his group. He presented their ideas on how to format the document to emphasize important information early on in the document. He explained their discussion on public engagement and how it can be used to potentially affect the planning of the city.
Matt Gomez, the representative from Michael Baker discussed the input received from his group. He shared their discussion on how demographics of the community can have a direct correlation to different components of the plan like housing, public safety and other city services. He presented some components of the plan the group felt may be underrepresented and the need to be elaborated on in better detail.

NEXT MEETING
The next scheduled meeting of the General Plan Committee will be August 9, 2023, at 6:00 PM at the Goodyear City Hall, located on 1900 N. Civic Square, Goodyear, AZ 85395.
