CALL TO ORDER

Chair Kaino called the Police Public Safety Personnel Retirement Board meeting to order at 8:04 a.m.

ROLL CALL

Present:: Chair Laura Kaino; Boardmember Jay Mathias; Board Member Jason Costello; Board Member Jason Bayer
Absent:: Vice Chair Michael Stewart
Staff Present:: Board Secretary Viviana Monge;
Attendees:: Chanda Washington, Benefits Analyst

MOTION BY Boardmember Jay Mathias, SECONDED BY Board Member Jason Costello to excuse Vice Chair Michael Stewart. The motion carried as follows:

BUSINESS

APPROVAL OF MINUTES
Approve the Police Public Safety Personnel Retirement Board meeting minutes of June 21, 2023.

MOTION BY Boardmember Jay Mathias, SECONDED BY Board Member Jason Bayer to APPROVE the draft minutes of the June 21, 2023 Police Public Safety Personnel Retirement Board meeting. The motion carried as follows:

AYE:: Chair Laura Kaino, Boardmember Jay Mathias, Board Member Jason Costello, Board Member Jason Bayer

Passed - Unanimously

Review, discussion and possible action regarding the application and medical reports for entry into the Public Safety Personnel Retirement System

The Board moved into Executive Session at 8:08 a.m.

Chair Kaino reconvened the meeting of the Police Public Safety Personnel Retirement Board at 8:52 a.m.

MOTION BY Boardmember Jay Mathias, SECONDED BY Board Member Jason Bayer to CONDITIONALLY ACCEPT the applications into the system pending additional medical records. The motion carried as follows:

AYE:: Chair Laura Kaino, Boardmember Jay Mathias, Board Member Jason Costello, Board Member Jason Bayer

Passed - Unanimously

EXECUTIVE SESSION

Per ARS §38-431.03, upon a public majority vote of the members constituting a quorum, the Goodyear Police Public Safety Personnel Retirement Board may hold an executive session for any item on the agenda.

MOTION BY Boardmember Jay Mathias, SECONDED BY Board Member Jason Costello to CONVENE an Executive Session. The motion carried as follows:

The Board noted the three separations and one DROP entry.
