CALL TO ORDER

President Mathias called the Goodyear Volunteer and Reserve Firefighter Retirement Trust Board to order at 8:00 a.m.

BUSINESS

APPROVAL OF MINUTES
Approve the draft minutes of the August 15, 2023 Goodyear Volunteer and Reserve Firefighter Retirement Trust Board meeting.

MOTION BY Treasurer Guy Farris, SECONDED BY Secretary Robert Manning to APPROVE the minutes of the August 15, 2023 Goodyear Volunteer and Reserve Firefighter Retirement Trust Board meeting. The motion carried as follows:

AYE:: President Jay Mathias, Treasurer Guy Farris, Secretary Robert Manning

Passed - Unanimously

Review, discussion and possible action to approve the withdrawal of funds by Ernie Carson.

The Board reviewed the Election for Payment of Benefits form submitted by Ernest Carson.

MOTION BY Secretary Robert Manning, SECONDED BY Treasurer Guy Farris to APPROVE the withdrawal of funds by Ernest Carson. The motion carried as follows:

AYE:: President Jay Mathias, Treasurer Guy Farris, Secretary Robert Manning

Passed - Unanimously

Review, discussion and possible action to appoint Guy Farris to a one-year term as a Boardmember.

MOTION BY Secretary Robert Manning, SECONDED BY President Jay Mathias to APPOINT Guy Farris to a one-year term. The motion carried as follows:

AYE:: President Jay Mathias, Treasurer Guy Farris, Secretary Robert Manning

Passed - Unanimously

Review, discussion and possible action to Elect a President, Secretary and Treasurer for one-year terms ending August 24, 2025.

MOTION BY Secretary Robert Manning, SECONDED BY Treasurer Guy Farris to ELECT Jay Mathias as President, Guy Farris as Treasurer and Robert Manning as Secretary to the Goodyear Volunteer and Reserve Firefighter Retirement Trust Board. The motion carried as follows:

AYE:: President Jay Mathias, Treasurer Guy Farris, Secretary Robert Manning

Passed - Unanimously

Review, discussion and possible action on the investments and accounts of the Goodyear Volunteer and Reserve Firefighter Retirement Trust.

Financial Consultant Gary Yeager reviewed the growth of the funds and the Board indicated they were satisfied with the current growth. President Mathias asked that the reports be set up to allow Guy Farris to access the reports monthly to send them to the city. Mr. Yeager said he would get that set up.

Meetings are held annually. The next meeting has not yet been scheduled.

There being no further business to discuss, President Mathias adjourned the meeting at 8:08 a.m.
