CALL TO ORDER
Programs and Events Subcommittee Chair Rosalind Robinson called the meeting to order at 2:05 p.m.

This is the time for citizens who would like to address the Board on any non-agenda item within the jurisdiction of the Board. The Board will listen to comments, and may take any one of the following:
- Respond to criticism.
- Request that staff investigate and report on the matter.
- Request that the matter be scheduled on a future agenda.

DISCUSS YOUTH ART PROGRAM (Layne Ruiz, Arts & Culture Coordinator)
Commissioner Rosalind Robinson discussed hosting youth art workshops, similar to the previously hosted Juneteenth workshops at the Goodyear Recreation Center. Workshops could be themed each month and could be both history and arts education. Commissioner Erin MacFarlane recommended asking the teens what they want to learn using a survey. Commissioner Nancy Love suggested various topics and the idea of using workshops to promote events such as Chalk Art in the Park and Juneteenth. All Commissioners discussed resources to tap into, such as local high teachers, Follow Your Art Jr. participants, and Arts & Culture Commissioners.
