Approve the September 26, 2024 Police Public Safety Personnel Retirement Board draft minutes.
MOTION BY Vice Chair Jay Mathias, SECONDED BY Boardmember Teresa Kuleff to APPROVE the September 26, 2024 Police Public Safety Personnel Retirement Board draft minutes. The motion carried as follows:

Chair Kaino reconvened the Police Public Safety Personnel Retirement Board meeting at 8:45 a.m.
MOTION BY Vice Chair Jay Mathias, SECONDED BY Boardmember Teresa Kuleff to CONDITIONALLY APPROVE the applications for entry into the Public Safety Personnel Retirement System for Andre Cardamone, Michael Fitchette, Timothy Fuerst, James Long and Michael Redman with pre-existing conditions, and Nelson Mendoza with no pre-existing conditions; pending additional records. The motion carried as follows:

Deputy Chief Mercy explained that the prior contracted providers were busy and unable to process new hires timely, so the Police Department entered into a contract with other providers and the other providers refused to complete the psychological pre-existing conditions form.
Board Attorney Lesli Sorensen explained the statutory and state Public Safety Personnel Retirement System rules that required the board to review the medical and psychological records to document any pre-existing conditions prior to entry into the system.
After additional discussion, it was determined that Mr. Locket and Deputy Chief Mercy would look into options to provide the information to the board and provide the information prior to the next meeting.

Per ARS §38-431.03, upon a public majority vote of the members constituting a quorum, the Goodyear Police Public Safety Personnel Retirement Board may hold an executive session for any item on the agenda.
