APPROVAL OF MINUTES
MOTION BY Commissioner Nancy Love, SECONDED BY Commissioner Laura Fries to APPROVE the draft minutes of the Arts & Culture Commission meeting held on September 9, 2025. The motion carried by the following vote:

CHAIRMAN REMARKS (LISA PAULOS)
Chairman Lisa Paulos shared remarks reflecting on her tenure with the Committee, noting the significant growth and expansion of arts within both the Committee and the City. She expressed appreciation for the work completed during her service and the progress made in advancing arts and culture in the community.

APPROVE THE GRC WALKING TRACK MURAL CONCEPT (DARIANA TREVIZO, CATITUDE ARTS)
The GRC walking track mural concept has been tabled.

ART PROGRAMS UPDATE (DALTON ATTIG, ARTS & CULTURE PROGRAMMER)
Arts & Culture Programmer Dalton Attig provided an update on current programs and exhibitions. The Follow Your Art Jr. reception and show concluded with strong participation, drawing 90 attendees. It was reported that the new Crossroads of Change exhibit has been installed in the City Hall lobby and will remain on display through December 18. The Futuristic Frontier exhibition is also now installed, with a reception scheduled for December 4 from 6 to 7:30 p.m.
An update was shared on the This & Yap program, which launched its first class on November 20, featuring painted tote bags. The upcoming P.W. Litchfield Heritage Lecture was highlighted, scheduled for November 20 from 10 to 11 a.m. It was also noted that the final Hot Coffee Lecture has concluded and that a new program, After Hours Art Talk, will begin on January 27.

ARTS UPDATE (LAYNE RUIZ, ARTS & CULTURE COORDINATOR)
Arts & Culture Coordinator Layne Ruiz provided an overview of recent accomplishments, ongoing projects, and upcoming opportunities. Ruiz noted recent highlights, including Veterans Day arts activities, the selection of artists for the Traffic Cabinet program, and the installation of the HOLA temporary artwork. She also shared progress on several active projects, such as the Solid Rock Heart installation, the GRC Track Mural, the continuing phases of the Traffic Cabinet Art Project, planned enhancements along the Bullard Wash Trail, and the public art components for Fire Station 184. Ruiz concluded with upcoming opportunities, including the development of suspended light pole banner artwork. In addition, Arts & Culture Superintendent Dawn Stipe presented the Committee with putty tins to distribute as a fun promotional item for the Arts & Culture program.

COMMISSIONER RECOGNITION (LAYNE RUIZ, ARTS & CULTURE COORDINATOR)
Arts & Culture Coordinator Layne Ruiz recognized Chairman Lisa Paulos, Vice Chairman Erin Macfarlane, and Commissioner Louise Privette for their dedicated service to the Arts & Culture Committee. Ruiz expressed appreciation for their leadership, contributions, and commitment to advancing arts and culture within the community.
Chairman Paulos and Vice Chairman Macfarlane each shared remarks reflecting on their time with the Arts & Culture Committee, highlighting the accomplishments achieved during their tenure and expressing gratitude for the opportunity to serve. Both conveyed their well-wishes to the Committee and stated they look forward to attending future Arts & Culture events.
