CALL TO ORDER
Chair Kaino called the Police Public Safety Personnel Retirement Board meeting to order at 8:00 a.m.

Board Attorney Sorensen participated remotely via Teams videoconference.

APPROVAL OF MINUTES
Approve the draft minutes of the March 20, 2025 Police Public Safety Personnel Retirement Board meeting.

Chair Kaino reconvened the Police Public Safety Personnel Retirement Board meeting at 8:04 a.m.
 

MOTION BY Vice Chair Jay Mathias, SECONDED BY Boardmember Teresa Kuleff to ACCEPT the application for Logan Adams and Jose De Jesus Gonzalez with no pre-existing conditions and Noah Knight and Joseph Lopez II with pre-existing conditions for entry into the Public Safety Personnel Retirement System. The motion carried as follows:

MOTION BY Boardmember Jason Bayer, SECONDED BY Boardmember Jason Costello to ACCEPT the previously conditionally approved applications for Norman Peterson, James Long, Andre Cardamone, Michael Fitchette, Michael Redman, Timothy Fuerst, and Jonathan Parks with pre-existing conditions and Nelson Mendoza with no pre-existing conditions for entry into the Public Safety Personnel Retirement system. The motion carried as follows:

Review and make findings regarding the reemployment of Public Safety Personnel Retirement System retiree Jared Lowe under A.R.S. § 38-849.
 

MOTION BY Boardmember Jason Bayer, SECONDED BY Boardmember Jason Costello to ACCEPT and find that Jared Lowe retired from an employer other than the City of Goodyear and is in a position ordinarily filled by an employee of an eligible group. Pursuant to A.R.S. § 38-849(H), contributions shall not be made on his behalf, he shall not earn service credit, and the City of Goodyear shall pay the alternate contribution rate on his behalf. The motion carried as follows:

EXECUTIVE SESSION

Per ARS §38-431.03, upon a public majority vote of the members constituting a quorum, the Goodyear Police Public Safety Personnel Retirement Board may hold an executive session for any item on the agenda.
 

MOTION BY Boardmember Teresa Kuleff, SECONDED BY Boardmember Jason Bayer to CONVENE an Executive Session. The motion carried as follows:

INFORMATION ITEMS
Chanda Washington, Benefits Analyst, acknowledged the passing of Esther Funk, a surviving spouse of a PSPRS retiree. Jasmine Pernicano, Board Secretary, announced that the June meeting will be cancelled due to the holiday.
 
NEXT MEETING
The next meeting for the Police Public Safety Personnel Retirement Board is tentatively scheduled for July 17, 2025.
 
ADJOURNMENT
There being no further business to discuss, Chair Kaino adjourned the meeting at 8:10 a.m.
