MOTION BY Commissioner John Cox, SECONDED BY Commissioner Sharolyn Hohman to APPROVE the draft minutes from the Parks and Recreation Advisory Commission Meeting held on October 9, 2025. The motion carried as follows:

NOMINATE AND APPOINT 2026 CHAIR & VICE-CHAIR (DAVID SEID, INTERIM PARKS AND RECREATION DIRECTOR)
Following a brief discussion, Commissioner John Cox put forward nominations for Chad Millette to serve as Chair and for Rachel Bretthauer to serve as Vice Chair.
MOTION BY Commissioner Brian Murphy, SECONDED BY Commissioner Sharolyn Hohman to APPROVE the nominations and appoint Chad Millette as Chair and Rachel Bretthauer as Vice-Chair for 2026. The motion carried as follows:

APPROVE 2026 MEETING CALENDAR (DAVID SEID, INTERIM PARKS AND RECREATION DIRECTOR)
Calendar dates were reviewed and approved, except for moving the February date to the first week of the month rather than the second, due to a scheduling conflict with Commissioner Rachel Bretthauer. There was a brief discussion about the meeting location and whether moving to a location other than the GRC was needed, but all Commissioners agreed that the GRC would remain the preferred location for all future meetings.

REVIEW 2026 AGENDA ITEMS (DAVID SEID, INTERIM PARKS AND RECREATION DIRECTOR)
The Commissioners discussed a few agenda items they would like to see added to future meetings. Commissioner Brian Murphy would like an update on the E-Bike speed limit signage reviewed earlier in 2025, a Bullard Wash update, and the status of the branding and logo design. He would also like an update on GRC Phase II. Chair Millette requested an update on the Ballpark, including upcoming development improvements, and a status update on negotiations with The Guardians and The Reds. Any additional agenda items can be recommended directly to Administrative Assistant Michele Martinez at any time.

Commissioners requested an update on progress toward hiring a new Parks and Recreation Director. Interim Parks and Recreation Director David Seid discussed the status of hiring the new director, noting that the hiring process would resume at the beginning of the new year. Commissioner Rachel Bretthauer requested that future meetings include updates on Adaptive and Senior programming. Chair Chad Millette noted that Holidays on the Square is fantastic every year.
