2.
Review, discussion and possible action on in-state lateral new hire forms and process.
Brian Issitt, Chief of Police, presented information regarding psychological evaluations for in-state lateral hires. He reviewed the Arizona POST Medical History Questionnaire and Medical Examination Report forms, noting that the department is able to expedite recruitment by not conducting a psychological evaluation for laterals who have already completed one and been accepted into PSPRS through a previous agency. Board Attorney Sorensen clarified that the form is not necessary, as any pre-existing conditions must pre-date entry into the retirement system, not the hire date with the City. She noted that the AZ POST forms would assist the Board if additional details on common conditions such as PTSD, anxiety, and ADHD were captured. The Board discussed having Ms. Sorensen provide Chief Issitt with information to facilitate requests for changes through AZ POST.

There was consensus to continue with not requiring psychological evaluations for in-state laterals. No action was taken.
