CHAIRMAN REMARKS (LISA PAULOS, CHAIRMAN)
Chairman Lisa Paulos expressed enthusiasm for the upcoming season, noting the planned events and opportunities for commissioners to engage with the community. She encouraged commissioners who are unable to volunteer to attend events as participants. Commissioner Paulos also extended her appreciation to the city of Goodyear Arts & Culture Division for its hard work and dedication to providing high-quality programs.

BULLARD WASH TRAIL ART CONCEPT REVIEW (JOE O'CONNELL, CREATIVE MACHINES)
Jo O’Connell with Creative Machines presented concepts developed for the Bullard Wash Trail art project. He explained that Creative Machines is working with Kimley-Horn to develop art concepts for the area and requested the commission’s feedback. He noted that the concepts draw inspiration from the Sonoran Desert and utilize colorful animal imagery ranging from life-size to large-scale. Commissioners were particularly drawn to the concept featuring the large-scale animals native to the wash, and ideas that create more of an arch or walk-through experience. Other displayed concepts included interactive elements incorporating light and wind.

FALL AND WINTER EVENTS PREVIEW (KRISTEN FIGUEROA, FESTIVAL AND EVENTS COORDINATOR)
Festival and Events Coordinator Kristen Figueroa highlighted the upcoming fall and winter 2025 events. She reported that events will be held at various locations throughout Goodyear to engage different communities. Due to increased attendance, some events have outgrown their current venues and will be relocated to larger facilities. She also noted that special guests are expected to attend, and new vendors will be providing food and beverages at these events. The Commission discussed their involvement at upcoming events, and agreed to host a booth at Ballet Under the Stars, Fall Festival, and Chalk Art in the Park.

PROGRAMS UPDATE (DALTON ATTIG, ARTS & CULTURE PROGRAMMER)
Arts & Culture Programmer Dalton Attig reported on upcoming public events where community members will have the opportunity to view artwork at receptions with the artists, including the Kitchen Creations Library Fine Art Show and Creative Aging Art Show, held in the Library Community Room. He noted the successful turnout for lectures held in partnership with the P.W. Litchfield Heritage Center. Dalton stated that submissions for Futuristic Frontier are closing soon, with installations planned, and shared that the Hot Coffee program is being rebranded to increase engagement.

ARTS UPDATE (LAYNE RUIZ, ARTS & CULTURE COORDINATOR)
Arts & Culture Coordinator Layne Ruiz provided an update on arts programs and opportunities. She reported on the progress of several projects, including the HOLA Temporary Art installation, the Solid Rock Heart project, and the GRC Track Mural. She also highlighted current opportunities, noting that the Veterans Day Mural call is open through September 29, the Traffic Cabinet call is open through October 13, and the Chalk Artists call is open through October 20.

TRAFFIC CABINET LOCATION RECOMMENDATIONS (LAYNE RUIZ, ARTS & CULTURE COORDINATOR)
Arts & Culture Coordinator Layne Ruiz shared that the Traffic Cabinet location map is available on the city website. She led a discussion on ideal locations for the cabinets, focusing on improved corners, good visibility from intersections, and areas with limited visual clutter. Layne also encouraged commissioners to report prime locations for traffic cabinets they observe while in the community.
