CALL TO ORDER

Vice Chair Mathias called the Police Public Safety Personnel Retirement Board meeting to order at 8:01 a.m.

Board Attorney Sorenson particiated remotely via Teams videoconference.

MOTION BY Boardmember Teresa Kuleff, SECONDED BY Boardmember Jason Costello to EXCUSE Chair Kaino. The motion carried as follows:

BUSINESS

APPROVAL OF MINUTES
Approve the draft minutes of the August 21, 2025 Police Safety Personnel Retirement Board meeting.

MOTION BY Boardmember Jason Costello, SECONDED BY Boardmember Jason Bayer to APPROVE the draft minutes of the August 21, 2025 Police Public Safety Personnel Retirement Board Meeting. The motion carried as follows:

Review, discussion and possible action on the applications and medical records for entry into the Public Safety Personnel Retirement System.

The Board moved into Executive Session for Item 2 at 8:04 a.m.

The Board reconvened the Police Public Safety Personnel Retirement Board meeting at 8:15 a.m.

Review and make findings regarding the reemployment of Public Safety Personnel Retirement System retiree Trent Luckow under A.R.S. § 38-849.

MOTION BY Boardmember Teresa Kuleff, SECONDED BY Boardmember Jason Bayer to ACCEPT and FIND that Trent Luckow retired from an employer other than the City of Goodyear and is serving in a position ordinarily filled by an employee of an eligible group; and pursuant to A.R.S. § 38-849(H), contributions shall not be made to PSPRS on his behalf, he shall not accrue PSPRS service credit, and the City of Goodyear shall pay the alternate contribution rate to PSPRS on his behalf. The motion carried as follows:

EXECUTIVE SESSION

Per ARS §38-431.03, upon a public majority vote of the members constituting a quorum, the Goodyear Police Public Safety Personnel Retirement Board may hold an executive session for any item on the agenda.

Vice Chair Mathias called for the Board to enter into Executive Session for Item 2. There was no objection.

The Board acknowledged the seperation listed.

INFORMATION ITEMS

Chanda Washington, Benefits Analyst, reported that a potential disability retirement application may be coming before the Board in the future.

FUTURE MEETINGS

The next meeting for the Police Public Safety Personnel Retirement Board is tentatively scheduled for October 16, 2025.

ADJOURNMENT

There being no further business to discuss, Vice Chair Mathias adjourned the meeting at 8:21 a.m.
