CALL TO ORDER
Chair Kaino called the Police Public Safety Personnel Retirement Board meeting to order at 8:00 a.m.

Approval of Minutes
Approve the draft minutes of the September 18, 2025 Police Safety Personnel Retirement Board meeting.
 

MOTION BY Boardmember Jason Bayer, SECONDED BY Boardmember Jason Costello to APPROVE the draft minutes of the September 18, 2025 Police Public Safety Personnel Retirement Board meeting. The motion carried as follows:

Review, discussion and possible action on the application and medical records for entry into the Public Safety Personnel Retirement System — MacKayla Schexnyder
 

MOTION BY Vice Chair Jay Mathias, SECONDED BY Boardmember Jason Costello to ACCEPT the application for MacKayla Schexnyder with pre-existing conditions for entry into the Public Safety Personnel Retirement System. The motion carried as follows:

Review, consideration and possible action on the application and medical records for Accidental Disability — Scott Preston
Lesli Sorensen, Board Attorney, verified that Mr. Preston did not waive his right to confidentiality, and therefore, the Board held any further discussion in Executive Session. 

The Board moved into Executive Session for Item 3 at 8:06 a.m.

Without objection, the Board reconvened the Police Public Safety Personnel Retirement Board meeting at 8:15 a.m.
 

MOTION BY Vice Chair Jay Mathias, SECONDED BY Boardmember Jason Costello to ACCEPT the application for accidental disability for Scott Preston and appoint a medical board to conduct an Independent Medical Examination (IME). The motion carried as follows:

EXECUTIVE SESSION

Per ARS §38-431.03, upon a public majority vote of the members constituting a quorum, the Goodyear Police Public Safety Personnel Retirement Board may hold an executive session for any item on the agenda.

INFORMATION ITEMS
Jasmine Pernicano, Board Secretary, briefly reported that AZ Post Medical Questionnaire is expected to remain the same for new hires.
 
FUTURE MEETINGS

The next Police Public Safety Personnel Retirement Board meeting is tentatively scheduled for November 20, 2025.
 
ADJOURNMENT
There being no further business to discuss, Chair Kaino adjourned the meeting at 8:18 a.m.
