Vice Mayor Hampton called the meeting to order at 3:02 p.m.

Review, discuss and possible action on the City Manager recruitment brochure and engagement surveys.
Wendi Brown, President/CEO of WBCP, Inc., requested feedback on the draft recruitment brochure. Lyman Locket, Human Resources Director, provided benchmark data regarding City Manager salary ranges. The Subcommittee provided minor language revisions and gave direction on hiring salary range, based on experience and qualifications, to be incorporated into the brochure. Ms. Brown stated that WBCP, Inc. will work to finalize the brochure in advance of the January 12 recruitment posting. She also presented an engagement survey that will be distributed to city staff and the community to gather input on the desired core competencies for the new City Manager.

Review and discuss next steps and timeline for the City Manager recruitment.
Stephanie Lawson, representing WBCP, Inc., provided an update on stakeholder engagement and reviewed the recruitment timeline. She stated that application review is tentatively scheduled with the Subcommittee on February 27, with pre-screening interviews tentatively scheduled for March 6. She reviewed the virtual community panel for the pre-screening interviews and noted that final interviews are tentatively scheduled for March 21.
The Subcommittee discussed diversity and inclusion considerations for the panel and made recommendations regarding panel composition. The Subcommittee also suggested considering an economic development tour as part of the final interview process.
