REVIEW CITY'S DROUGHT PREPAREDNESS PLAN
Staff presented the City's current Drought Preparedness Plan which was originally adopted in 2022. The Committee reviewed the plan, discussed its provisions, and provided feedback to staff regarding the listed water reduction strategies outlined within the document.

OTHER BUSINESS
Staff provided an update on the status of negotiations regarding the Colorado River. The seven basin states did not meet the February 14, 2026 deadline imposed by the federal government to reach a consensus agreement on future river operations. Staff also reported that the Draft Environmental Impact Statement (DEIS) for the Post-2026 Operations of Lake Mead and Lake Powell has been released and is currently available for public review and comment. Additionally, staff noted that the City is also a member of CAP’s Coalition for Protecting Arizona’s Lifeline, which advocates for Arizona’s Colorado River allocation and the sustainability of the Central Arizona Project.
