REVIEW CITY'S DROUGHT PREPAREDNESS PLAN
Staff reported that internal meetings are being held to discuss how the various stages of the Drought Preparedness Plan impact different City departments.

REVIEW AND DISCUSS HOA WATER MANAGEMENT PLAN
Staff introduced the concept of a water management plan for HOAs intended to help them better prepare for potential water reductions during severe drought conditions; however, the idea requires additional vetting.

Arizona Water Infrastructure Finance Authority’s (WIFA) Long-Term Water Augmentation Plan (LTWAP)
Staff presented on the Arizona Water Infrastructure Finance Authority’s (WIFA) Long-Term Water Augmentation Plan (LTWAP), providing an overview of proposed water importation projects, including various approaches such as ocean water desalination and water exchanges. Water Services staff also participates in an offtaker group evaluating these projects and their potential implications for the City.

Staff introduced the concept of a cap-and-trade program for water conservation as a potential strategy to increase conservation among large water users.
