PUBLIC COMMENTS

Before you begin to speak, identify yourself by clearly stating for the record, your name and address. This is the time for citizens who would like to address the Board on any non-agenda item within the jurisdiction of the Board. The Board will listen to comments, and may take any one of the following:
  • Respond to criticism.
  • Request that staff investigate and report on the matter.
  • Request that the matter be scheduled on a future agenda.
 
OLD BUSINESS
 
1.
Arts & Culture Commission Collaboration Update (Chairman Landefeld)

Chairman Landefeld opened discussion about a partnership with Arts and Culture Commission (ACC). The committee reviewed the upcoming ACC events and agreed to share, promote and to attend virtually.
 
NEW BUSINESS
 
2.
Goodyear 75th Anniversary Activity Ideas (Committee Member Wilson)

Committee Member Wilson shared a list of 75 things to do in Goodyear, as an activity for the City of Goodyear 75th Anniversary. Wilson will continue to work on the list with the subcommittees and Parks and Recreation Advisory Commission. The list will also be shared with Assistant to Council, John Raeder who is involved with coordinating the City of Goodyear 75th Anniversary celebration.

Public Art, Hearts Scavenger Hunt (Chairman Landefeld)

Chairman Landefeld discussed the scavenger hunt activity. Landefeld stated that there are 10 hearts throughout Goodyear and asked the committee members to visit the hearts and find something unique on the heart, come up with things to find with 10 questions.
Committee Member Hohman volunteered to visit the hearts to check the accessibility of the hearts.

February Events Updates (Chairman Landefeld)

-5k Heart & Sole: Deputy Director Seid stated the event was virtual but a success with approximately 235 participants registered.
-Shakespeare in the Park: The event was virtual and a video of the event is available to view, with approximately 15,000 views.

Next meeting is tentatively set for May 11, 2021 at 5:30 p.m.

There being no further business to discuss, Chairman Landefeld adjourned the meeting at 6:58 p.m.
