RECOMMENDATION:
That the City Council deny the claim of Mr. Dan Caladora in order to set a definite six-month Statue of Limitations date.
DISCUSSION:
On November 7, 2022, Dan Cadalora, a La Habra resident, filed a property damage claim in the amount of $15,000 after a City contractor damaged the main water line during a curb repair project which caused a sewer back up at his residence. Mr. Cadalora’s claim against the City was tendered to the contractor for control of the claim.
Staff recommends that the claim of Mr. Cadalora be denied in order to set a definite six-month statute of limitations date.
