RECOMMENDATION:
That the City Council deny the claim of Mr. Art Acosta in order to set a definite six-month Statute of Limitations date.
DISCUSSION:
The City received a property damage claim on March 8, 2023 from Mr. Art Acosta, a City of La Mirada resident, in the amount of $1,157.68 for damage to his vehicle he claims was caused by a pothole he ran over on Imperial Highway. The location where the alleged incident occurred is owned and maintained by Caltrans, not the City of La Habra.
Staff recommends that the claim of Mr. Acosta be denied in order to set a definite six-month statute of limitations date.
