RECOMMENDATION:
That the City Council deny the claim of Ms. Cynthia Krueger in order to set a definite six-month Statute of Limitations date.
DISCUSSION:
Ms. Cynthia Krueger, a City of La Habra resident, filed a property damage claim on April 19, 2023 in the amount of $512 for reimbursement to replace two tires and repair one tire, a vehicle alignment, and towing costs. Ms. Krueger alleges that on April 15, 2023, she was traveling southbound on Palm Street, between Whittier Boulevard and La Habra Boulevard when she drove over a pothole during a street resurfacing project causing damage to her vehicle. This claim was tendered to the City's contractor conducting street paving work at that location.
