RECOMMENDATION:
That the City Council deny the claim of Mr. Carl Scialla in order to set a definite six-month Statute of Limitations date.
DISCUSSION:
Mr. Carl Scialla, a City of La Mirada resident, filed a property damage claim on September 10, 2020, in the amount of $1,482.82. The claim alleges that on August 27, 2020, Mr. Scialla was traveling northbound on Beach Boulevard, stopped in the left turn lane at the intersection of Lambert Road, when a temporary “Lane Closed” road sign located on the center divider fell next to his vehicle which caused damage to the driver’s side door. This claim was tendered to Caltrans.
