| SUBJECT: | APPROVE NOTICE OF COMPLETION TO SANCON TECHNOLOGIES FOR ANNUAL SEWER REHABILITATION PROGRAM, MAIN SEWER LINING FY 2021-2022 AND FY 2022-2023, CITY PROJECT NO. 1-S-23

RECOMMENDATION:
That the City Council approve the Notice of Completion to Sancon Technologies, Inc. for the Annual Sewer Rehabilitation Program Main Sewer Lining, FY 2021-2022 and FY 2022-2023, City Project No. 1-S-23, and authorize staff to submit the notice for recordation.
DISCUSSION:
On March 20, 2023, the City Council awarded a construction contract to Sancon Technologies, Inc. of Huntington Beach, California in the amount of $109,000, which included a twenty percent (20%) contingency for the Annual Sewer Rehabilitation Program Main Sewer Lining, FY21-22 & FY22-23, City Project No. 1-S-23.
The project included cleaning, the removal of mineral deposits, and relining of approximately 875 lineal feet of 8 inch and 12 inch sewer main pipes using a Cured-in-Place Pipe Liner method. Staff conducted a final inspection and found that the work was completed in accordance with the Project plans, specifications, and City standards. Upon acceptance of the Project by the City Council, staff will file a Notice of Completion (Attachment 1) for recordation at the Orange County Clerk-Recorder's Office.

FISCAL IMPACT/SOURCE OF FUNDING:
The final cost of construction for this project was $101,489, which is $7,511 less than the $109,000 purchase order previously approved by Council and allocated from the City's Sewer Fund.
