APPROVE DENIAL OF LIABILITY CLAIM OF SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA EDISON

RECOMMENDATION:


That the City Council deny the claim of Southern California Edison in order to set a definite six-month Statute of Limitations date.

DISCUSSION:

On March 26, 2024, Southern California Edison filed a property damage claim for an unspecified amount. The claim alleges that on September 19, 2023, a contractor hired by the City of La Habra struck and damaged underground cable belonging to Southern California Edison while repairing a water leak located at 1010 W. La Habra Boulevard. The claim was tendered to the City's contractor conducting water main repairs at the location.

None.
