RECOMMENDATION:
That the City Council deny the claim of Mr. Salvador Borja Luna in order to set a definite six-month Statute of Limitations date.
DISCUSSION:
On March 25, 2024, an attorney representing Mr. Salvador Borja Luna, a City of La Habra resident, filed a bodily injury claim in the amount of $600,000. The claim alleges that on September 23, 2023, Mr. Borja Luna was riding his bicycle traveling southbound on Idaho Street in the bicycle lane, when he was struck by a vehicle traveling westbound on Highlander Avenue.
