RECOMMENDATION:
That the City Council deny the claim of Mr. Daniel Varney in order to set a definite six-month Statute of Limitations date.
DISCUSSION:
Mr. Daniel Varney, a City of La Habra resident, retained an attorney who filed a claim against the City on November 19, 2024, for unspecified damages. The claim alleges that on July 25, 2024, the claimant was walking near his home at the corner of Pamela Lane and East North Hills when he stepped into an open manhole cover and sustained injuries.
