| SUBJECT: | APPROVE DENIAL OF LIABILITY CLAIM OF CRAWFORD PRAXIS RISK SERVICES, INC. ON BEHALF OF SUTTON NATIONAL INSURANCE COMPANY

RECOMMENDATION:
That the City Council deny the claim of Crawford Praxis Risk Services, Inc. on behalf of Sutton National Insurance Company in order to set a definite six-month Statute of Limitations date.
DISCUSSION:
On February 20, 2025, Crawford Praxis Risk Services, Inc. filed a property damage claim on behalf of Sutton National Insurance Company for their insured, Mr. Hye Jin An, a resident of the City of La Habra, in the amount of $78,528.80 to repair damage to Mr. An’s home located at 2131 West Toledo Place. The claim alleges that on August 29, 2024, a City of La Habra Water Services Technician turned on water service to the property and, due to a water leak that then occurred in the home, the claim alleges that the home sustained significant water damage.
