| SUBJECT: | APPROVE NOTICE OF COMPLETION FOR LAS REINAS WOMAN'S CLUB PARK, CITY PROJECT NO. 1-P-22

RECOMMENDATION:
That the City Council approve the Notice of Completion for Las Reinas Woman's Club Park, City Project No. 1-P-22, and authorize staff to submit the Notice of Completion for recordation.
DISCUSSION:
On May 6, 2024, the City Council awarded a construction contract to Micon Construction, Inc. of Placentia, California in the amount of $1,871,978.40, which included a twenty percent (20%) contingency for the construction of Las Reinas Woman's Club Park. The project included new landscaping, irrigation, hardscape, concrete walkways, sidewalks, the planting of approximately 35 trees, the installation of playground and exercise equipment, a Poligon structure, shade structures, picnic tables, seating benches, raised planters, curb ramps, park lighting, drinking fountains and other related improvements.
Staff conducted a final inspection and found that the work was completed in accordance with the project plans, specifications, and City of La Habra standards. Upon acceptance of the project by the City Council, staff will file a Notice of Completion (Attachment 1) for recordation at the Orange County Recorder's Office.
On April 30, 2025, the City celebrated the ribbon cutting and grand opening of the new Las Reinas Woman's Club Park.

FISCAL IMPACT/SOURCE OF FUNDING:
The Project has an approved construction budget in the amount of $1,871,978.40, which included a grant of the amount of $861,400 from Parks and Water Bond Act of 2018 (Proposition 68) . The total construction cost for the Project was $1,680,183.17 or $191,795.23 less than the approved purchase order amount of $1,871,978.40; therefore, there are sufficient funds to release retention and file the Notice of Completion.
