RECOMMENDATION:
Staff recommends that the claim of Crista and John Lantz be denied in order to set a definite six-month Statute of Limitations date.
DISCUSSION:
Crista and John Lantz, La Habra residents, filed a claim on March 12, 2020 in the amount of $6,718.16 for damage to their property at 1161 North Palm Street. The claimants allege that the damage in their home was caused by the City’s sewer system backing up in the main sewer line below their property, which caused raw sewage to come up through the interior drains and out of the toilet, flooding their bathroom, laundry room, hallway, and family room.
