RECOMMENDATION:
That the City Council:
APPROVE AND ADOPT RESOLUTION NO. ______ ENTITLED: A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LA HABRA, CALIFORNIA, RECITING THE FACT OF THE GENERAL MUNICIPAL ELECTION HELD ON NOVEMBER 3, 2020, DECLARING THE RESULTS AND SUCH OTHER MATTERS AS PROVIDED BY LAW.
APPROVE AND ADOPT RESOLUTION NO. ______ ENTITLED: A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LA HABRA, CALIFORNIA, RECITING THE FACT OF THE GENERAL MUNICIPAL ELECTION HELD ON NOVEMBER 3, 2020, DECLARING THE RESULTS AND SUCH OTHER MATTERS AS PROVIDED BY LAW.
DISCUSSION:
The November 3, 2020, General Municipal Election was held for the purpose of La Habra voters electing three (3) members to the La Habra City Council, as well as voting on ballot Measure W and ballot Measure X. Election Code Section 10262 requires the City to pass a resolution reciting the facts of the municipal election following the canvass and certification of the election by the Orange County Registrar of Voters. The Orange County Registrar of Voters certified the election results November 25, 2020, and submitted those results to the La Habra City Clerk via regular mail on December 7, 2020 (Attachment 1, Exhibit A).

The results affirm that Rose Espinoza, Tim Shaw, and Steve Simonian were elected as Members of the City Council for the full term of four years each, and both local ballot measures, Measure W and Measure X, were approved by the voters. Attached to the resolution is the certified statement of results of the election; including Measure W and Measure X, as provided by the Orange County Registrar of Voters.
FISCAL IMPACT/SOURCE OF FUNDING:
There is no fiscal impact associated with the certification of the election results.
