| SUBJECT: | APPROVE DENIAL OF LIABILITY CLAIMS OF NINA DO, DANIEL TRAN, ETHAN TRAN, KHANH TRAN, AND LISA TRAN

RECOMMENDATION:
That the City Council deny the claim of Nina Do, Daniel Tran, Ethan Tran, Khanh Tran, and Lisa Tran in order to set a definite six-month Statute of Limitations date.
DISCUSSION:
On November 15, 2021, the City was served with claims for Nina Do, Daniel Tran, Ethan Tran, Khanh Tran, and Lisa Tran for an undetermined amount. The claims stem from an officer involved shooting of Matthew Tran by La Habra Police Officers. The claim also alleges violation of state and federal civil rights as a result of an unlawful search and seizure and imprisonment.
