| SUBJECT: | APPROVE NOTICE OF COMPLETION TO ELECNOR BELCO ELECTRIC, INC. FOR THE HARBOR BOULEVARD AND ARBOLITA DRIVE TRAFFIC SIGNAL MODIFICATION, FY 2020-2021, CITY PROJECT NO. 1-TC-20

RECOMMENDATION:
That the City Council approve the Notice of Completion to Elecnor Belco Electric, Inc. for the Harbor Boulevard and Arbolita Drive Traffic Signal Modification, FY 2020-2021, City Project No. 1-TC-20, and authorize staff to submit the notice for recordation.
DISCUSSION:
On June 7, 2021, the City Council awarded a construction contract to Elecnor Belco Electric, Inc. of Chino, California in the amount of $319,638.00, which included a ten percent (10%) contingency for the Harbor Boulevard and Arbolita Drive Traffic Signal Modification, FY2020-2021, City Project No. 1-TC-20.
The project included upgrades to the intersection, installation of protected left turn lanes, new signal poles, and various other traffic equipment upgrades. These improvements improved traffic flow and enhanced safety for bicyclists and pedestrian traffic crossing the intersection. Staff conducted a final inspection and found that the work was completed in accordance with the Project plans, specifications, and City standards. Upon acceptance of the Project by the City Council, staff will file a Notice of Completion (Attachment 1) for recordation at the Orange County Clerk-Recorder's Office.

FISCAL IMPACT/SOURCE OF FUNDING:
The final cost of construction for this project was $284,332.72, which is $35,305.28 less than the $319,638.00 purchase order previously approved by the City Council and allocated from the City's Gas Tax Fund.
