RECOMMENDATION:
That the City Council deny the claim of Mr. Celestino Gil in order to set a definite six-month Statute of Limitations date.
DISCUSSION:
Mr. Celestino Gil, a City of La Habra resident, filed a property damage claim on June 13, 2023, in the amount of $1,484 for reimbursement to repair the rear differential on his vehicle. Mr. Gil alleges that in March 2023, he was traveling westbound on Imperial Highway from Beach Boulevard when he drove over potholes that he could not avoid due to heavy traffic, causing damage to his vehicle differential. The claim form was considered incomplete and returned to the claimant so that it could be amended. To date, an amended claim has not been filed.
