RECOMMENDATION:
That the City Council deny the claim of Mr. Danny Lopez in order to set a definite six-month Statute of Limitations date.
DISCUSSION:
Mr. Danny Lopez, a City of La Habra resident, filed a property damage claim on January 17, 2024, in the amount of $2,760.12 for damage to his vehicle. The claim alleges that, on December 9, 2023, Mr. Lopez’s vehicle was parked in a driveway on Henderson Way when the embers of a burning City-owned palm tree landed on his vehicle, causing damage to the trunk, passenger side rear panel, and hood of the vehicle.
